INTRØDUCING: SUMMER BØUNTIES
Everyone has that one trick they’re working on. Whether you just started skating last month, been skating for 25 years straight, or are picking it back up for the first time in 15 years, you’re on your way to becoming a better skater, one trick at a time.
Skating is its own reward, but what if there was a fun, community-oriented system designed to reward you for trying out new or different trick and location combos in order to earn rewards that will motivate you to skate more? Not just motivation to skate more, but to film and share your progress with others? Well, we’ve cooked up just that.
Today we’re introducing Summer Bounties, a series of monthly challenges posted at the beginning of each June, July, and August for local skaters to earn free gear and other perks at the shop. At the beginning of each month, we’ll post six bounties, three each for two categories of local skaters, Beginner and Benchmark.
BEGINNER
AGES: 18 & Under
LOCATION: Skate Parks
BENCHMARK
AGES: 15 & Over
LOCATION: Street Spots
Capturing a bounty while sporting HAVØK gear, whether it’s on a shop deck, sporting a shop tee, or just with a free logo sticker slapped onto the board, doubles the reward for it. That means if you’re gunning for that sweet blunt slide to earn a new set of bearings, you’ll get two sets of bearings for sporting your local shop in the clip.
In addition to each monthly reward pool, we’ll also be giving out a free deck to whoever performs the best trick at any of the active spots. This goes for both the Beginner and Benchmark sets, and means one lucky and talented high school student could earn themselves two free decks and other gear and perks each month.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1.) FOLLOW US
Follow us on your favorite social media platform at @havoknwi where we’ll post new bounties at the beginning of each month.
2.) GET A CLIP
Record a video of you landing the trick and location combo. Bring a buddy! Having a friend to help film each other’s clip helps increase film quality and motivation.
3.) POST THE CLIP
Using the hashtag #nwisk8bounties, post the clip on Instagram and tag us at @havoknwi, or send us the clip and we’ll tag you instead.
4.) CLAIM REWARD
Claim your dues at the shop by showing us your clip or profile on your phone. Share the fun and victory with others at your local park or hang.
No new system is perfect from the jump, so we’ll be taking in feedback to further tweak the logistics of Summer Bounties until it includes, challenges, and motivates as many local skaters as possible.
